CRPT Alumni Support Program
CRPTC III in St. Augustine, 2017 |
Since 2011, the Florida Public Archaeology Network has trained over a thousand people throughout Florida in ways of cemetery preservation through the Cemetery Resource Protection Training (CRPT). Between workshops we aim to provide ongoing support through conferences, assisting in cleanups, and ongoing conversations about starting Friends groups and drafting management plans. Now, we are looking to do more to support our amazing alumni and their efforts.
Example cleaning kit. |
Current funding allows us to distribute two kits at this time based on donations received from registrations at the 2017 CRPT Conference held in St. Augustine. We hope to grow the fund year to year through on donations, and distribute more kits next year.
What can you do?
First, you can apply for the current kits available! Applicants must be a CRPT graduate. Preference will be given to cemeteries with sustainable infrastructure such as a support organization (Friends group), management plan, or engaged landowner. Applications are due November 1st. A completed program application form and cover letter describing why the cemetery or group merits the support is required. For more information, see contact information below.
CRPT Shirts available for a recommended $20 donation. Design by the fabulous Becky O'Sullivan of FPAN West Central. Supplies limited at this time, request donation form to receive. |
If you don't know whether or not your cemetery is listed, you can contact your local FPAN office for assistance.
What else can you do?
You can also donate year round to the fund if you want to see it continue to grow. As a thank you to those who donate $20 or more, we will send you our iconic CRPT t-shirt commemorating the first CRPT conference in 2014.
Thank you to our fantastic CRPT Alliance community. We now declare the 2019 application for the first CRPT Alumni Support Program..... open!
