Cemetery a Day in May: Allbritton
Cemetery Log Date: May 16, 2014
This abandoned cemetery has recently gotten a lot of love from the local Sons of the Confederate Veterans (SCV) camp.
Allbritton Cemetery is the final resting place of James T Allbritton, a Confederate veteran, and many of his family members. The cemetery was in use from the late 1880s until the 1960s and it was all but forgotten about shortly after.
When SCV Camp 745 found out about the state of this veteran's grave, they started a clean up project. In the process, they found a previously unknown headstone, uprighted a fallen stone and cleared a lot of vegetation.
